Our performance clients are athletes focused on improving their performance in their sport. Generally speaking, these clients are not looking to lose a significant amount weight but rather looking to optimize their nutrition for their sport. We specialize in weight class athletes to simplify weight cuts and ensure making weight does not negatively impact performance. That said, we can support the sport specific goals of any athlete, in any sport.

II’ve been working with Alexa for a little more than a year now. I thought I knew about nutrition but I definitely didn’t know about weight cuts. Alexa not only helped me achieve my weight for my competitions, but she also taught me about food and how to adjust my portions and my meals. Eating for a competition wasn’t stressful and restricting anymore. With her weekly check-ins, I felt supported and encouraged to follow my plan and build a better relationship with food. I would 100% recommend Cedars Nutrition to anyone who needs a better understanding of nutrition, weight cuts, and a better relationship with food.”

I love working with Alexa! For me, managing my weight has always been complicated since I started competing in weightlifting in 2011. Since I have been working with Alexa, I feel confident when I approach competition. We have a safe and healthy strategy to cut weight and I have a daily follow-up with her to accompany my nutrition when I am abroad for international competition. I learned a lot about nutrition while working with her. Alexa, thank you for all your help, knowledge and expertise.

I started with Jessie in May 2023. My goals were to cut down a weight class, feel healthy and strong, and be ready to compete.
Within a few weeks of working with Jessie, my family suffered a tragic loss. This loss caused me to stop eating and drinking. I lost about 10lbs in a short period of time. This obviously wasn’t healthy and I was struggling.
Jessie was so supportive and understanding. She gave me a plan that I could follow that wasn’t overwhelming to keep me healthy. She has been patient with me and so encouraging while we work our way back up to my maintenance macros.
Jessie is an amazing nutrition coach and person. She has the knowledge to help you reach any nutrition goal you may have, even if along the way your goals change. Jessie will stick with you through the tough times and always make sure you are set up for success.
Thank you Jessie for not giving up on me.

I compete in the 71 kilo/ 156 lbs weight class as an elite Olympic weightlifter. My goals for working with Lex were to optimize my nutrition to get stronger, but also work on body composition to better fit into my weight class. Since working with her, I have become the best version of myself. Olympic weightlifting is very performance-based, but she has helped me gain the confidence to love my body and develop a healthy relationship with not only food, but also the scale.
More than anything, Lex has taught me that nutrition is a powerful tool that can enhance my strength and performance as an athlete. Being strong, built and muscular is beautiful, powerful, and sexy.
I’m so thankful for Alexa. She is not only a subject matter expert, but she is an incredible person, athlete and professional. I’m so blessed to have her in my corner!

Faith is so hands-on! I am so appreciative of how often she checks in, responds, and is overall just willing to take time to help with anything I need. In the past, coaches won’t really answer questions in depth or take extra time out of their day to respond unless we have a scheduled session. With Faith, I’m confident I can ask her anything and she’ll always get back to me. She’s also extremely knowledgeable about the way the body works and why some choices are better than others. She will always break down why she is pointing something out or having me try something, and not just telling me for no reason or without explanation.

I came to Cedars Nutrition after almost a year into a competitive Olympic lifting program. I was lifting four times a week, attending Barre classes four times a week, and squeezing in yoga classes as often as possible. I was working out 2-3 hours a day, but I was exhausting myself and not seeing the kind of progress I had hoped for when I started. I reached out to one of my coaches for help, and she recommended Cedars. They matched me with an amazing coach who was very supportive of my goals and not judgmental about my previous eating habits. Coach Jessie helped me reframe my thoughts around food by showing me how necessary it is to have the right balance of macros, which really allowed me to stop seeing food as “good” or “bad” and simply evaluate how a food fit into my budget for the day and into helping me achieve my goals. Coach Jessie also helped me prioritize other changes in my life that needed to happen before I could really zero in on my nutrition, like getting enough sleep and advocating for the help I need from my family. With Coach Jessie and Cedars, I really feel I’ve gotten a life coach, not just a nutrition coach who is only interested in reviewing my food logs. I feel she sees me as a whole person and is helping me to navigate all the obstacles that might keep me from my goals. In only two months with Cedars, I have lost 5.5kg and have so much more energy during my workouts! I no longer roll into the gym after a Barre class low on energy and feeling defeated. I’m noticing more explosive power in my lifts and a much better attitude about the work I’m doing on my form. If this is the result of only two months of work, I can’t wait to see where I am in six months or a year with Coach Jessie’s help!

I wanted to make sure that I was able to comfortably compete in new weight classes. I grew up around wrestlers and saw lots of unhealthy ways of losing weight and didn’t want that to be my only option.
My body feels and looks more lean and strong and I’ve been able to regulate hormones through dietary changes to have regular cycles!
Working with Cedars has made me such a fierce advocate for encouraging young female athletes to fuel their bodies. I remember as a young female athlete thinking that losing my cycle was a point of pride because it meant I was “working hard enough,” when in reality I was definitely not eating enough nor enough of the right foods. Now, every time I have the opportunity to work with young female athletes I make it a point to tell them to fuel their bodies.
I grew up in and around wrestling so I’ve witnessed people losing weight for sports my whole life. While I’ve personally never competed in a weight class sport other than weightlifting, I think the biggest difference between that environment and working with Jessie and Cedars is how accommodating this program is. It really surprised me how much I’ve been able to learn about making weight loss something that fits around my lifestyle rather than making my lifestyle fit around weight loss.

I started working with Faith while training for my first 100-mile trail race. I knew if I was going to survive it (ideally injury free), I needed to take care of my body. My goals were simple: don’t fall apart, lose a little body fat, and have enough energy to keep showing up.
Since working with her, I’ve leaned into fueling properly around and during my runs and prioritizing recovery in a way I never had before. I’ve lost some body fat, but more importantly, I feel more supported, more consistent, and way more confident in how I’m taking care of myself during training.
The best part about Faith is how she shows up. She has never once made me feel bad when something goes “wrong” (which is impressive, because… it happens. A lot). Instead, she meets me with encouragement, understanding, and a steady level of accountability. She knows when to push and when to hold the line and that balance has made a huge difference for me. If you’re looking for someone who keeps you accountable while truly taking care of your body, I can’t recommend her enough.

Faith is great! I've had the pleasure of working closely with her since the fall of 2023. I feel like she has done a good job of hearing my needs and giving suggestions to aid me in my pursuit of competing in the CrossFit games. Faith made complex nutrition understandable, created tailored meal plans that are sustainable, and motivated me to reach my goals. Her professionalism and passion had a positive impact on all aspects of my new healthy life style and assisted me in competing in the 2024 & 2025 Games. I owe her a huge debt of gratitude!!

Over the last 3 years, Alexa has helped me with my nutrition and fueling my body for performance. She has taught me through the years how important it is to be fueling my body for the goals that I have. She is such an amazing coach who listens to you and helps you come up with solutions that are sustainable for you and your schedule!
She is very kind, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and professional. She makes nutrition fun while also educating you on certain nutritional topics that may come up at your check-ins!

I have loved my experience working with Alexa! My eating was pretty disordered before, and it showed in my training. Once I started with Cedars Nutrition and really committed to my goals I have seen huge progress! Hitting PR's during a cut made a big impression on me and now I fully realize the importance of being consistent with my nutrition. Alexa makes it feel easy and fun! I feel like I hit the nutrition-coach jackpot and am super excited to see what I can do with Alexa on my team!!

After a few months with Cedars Nutrition and Jessie, I have seen the power that fueling your body properly has. Jessie has become one of my biggest supporters when it comes to training and nutrition but also me as a person. As someone who has had a lot of stomach problems, I was struggling to eat enough of the right foods to support my goals inside and outside the gym. Jessie was patient with me and truly listened to everything that was going on. She never pushed or controlled what I ate but helped me make better decisions that were right for me. With my primary goal of getting stronger, she worked with me to slowly increase my intake over time. While things are never perfect and I don’t always make the best choices, Jessie has supported and encouraged me to enjoy life and using food as a positive addition to my life and training. She shares my excitement over my PRs and small mundane things like using a step-counting app that has a picture of a dog. I love working with Jessie and Cedars Nutrition and can’t wait to continue eating good food every day :)

The “culture” around the first nutrition program I used was very aesthetics based and I was chasing leanness over performance, which exacerbated my disordered eating. I switched to a more flexible dieting approach with another coach but then I had few guardrails and it made making weight very difficult (I have a bad cut experience and then I learned/accepted I wasn’t meant to be a 64kg lifter!). With Alexa - the focus hasn’t been on JUST the bodyweight - it’s been very holistic: overall lifestyle and happiness, and also performance. It’s about building skills and tools for life rather than just for making weight on meet day. Alexa has never pushed me to do anything I didn’t want to and she is incredibly supportive of my goals. As an example, I was debating cutting down 1-2 kg to go back to my previous weight class - rather than tell me no, she simply reminded me of how I have tended to feel about nutrition when I am cutting (I get very stressed!). It helped me remember that cutting for competition and me are not friends but she never pushed me in a particular direction - just shared her observation so I could make my own decision. I’m confident if I chose to cut she would still support me in those goals! Alexa also offers a lot of powerful insights and even after working with her for 4 years I’m still learning something new all the time!

I started to work with Faith when I first started to take my recovery from anorexia seriously. My main goals were to heal my relationship with food, find what health and wellness meant for me and also achieve my performance goals with running. Faith has not only supported me with accomplishing all of these goals, but has also helped me see and truly believe that food is not only fuel but enjoyment, I am worthy no matter what the scale says and that recovery and healing your relationship with food is possible.
I struggled with my weight for years and ended up in a bad cycle of restriction in order to lose weight. I would under eat and overtrain. Through Faith’s education and support I am now able to eat more calories than I ever thought possible, I can go out with my loved ones and enjoy food, I have flexibility and sustainability in my diet.
Faith has helped me understand the importance of performance rather than obsessing over the scale or striving for a look that is not sustainable. With her support I was able to train and complete a half marathon this month. I was able to practice fueling before during and after. Due to fueling during my training and during my race I was able to beat my goal time by four minutes.
Working with Faith is hands down the best decision I have made for my recovery and my overall health. I’ve seen drastic improvement in my performance but most importantly my body image and my relationship with food. Faith is there for me through it all, the harder days as well as the great ones. Faith truly understands me and shows me daily that she cares about my wellbeing. Her support has been invaluable and each day I am excited to see how I can continue to grow with her education, advice and support.
